How to Fix
Your Life Pt.1 |
Once you’ve quit heroin and have stayed clean
for some time, then it’s time to start fixing
your life; because you cant do both. You
can’t do heroin and fix your life at the same
time. You have to quit heroin first, and then
fix your life.
And if you managed to quit heroin before your
life fell apart then great! Wonderful! Now you
can get back to your normal life, if that’s
what’s you want to do. Or, you can start a whole
new life all over again from scratch.
And if you’re still hooked on dope, then keep
reading so that you’ll have a good idea of what
lies ahead.
If you’re like most heroin addicts, or
recovering drug addicts, then most likely,
you’ve messed up your life and now it’s time to
clean up the mess.
And I’m sure most of you have a lot of problems.
But the most common problems within the
life of a heroin addict or a recovering addict
are related to:

1. |
Heroin |
 |
|
2. |
Money |
 |

If you’re hooked on
dope then you know what to have to do.
Read my website over and over again until your
mind becomes fully occupied with the thoughts of
quitting heroin, staying clean, and turning your
life around.
If you’re going to do it cold turkey then
do it cold turkey. If you’re
going to do it with suboxone then do it
with suboxone. If you’re going to do it
with methadone then do it with methadone.
And if you’re going to do it in rehab then
do it in rehab. But whatever
you do, don’t just sit there and do nothing.
Quit this thing as fast as you can, and
then begin to fix your life and turn your life
around.
But the most common problem for most
heroin addicts and recovering addicts as well
(aside from heroin itself) is the lack of money.
And believe it or not, money is going to fix a
lot of your problems as well.
|
How to fix your
money situation
|
It takes money to eat.
It takes money to pay bills. It takes
money to support your family. It takes
money to pay rent. It takes money to own
a car and keep that car on the road.
It takes money to do almost everything.
And without money, it’s hard to do
anything.
But sometimes, we have to start
all over again from the bottom and work
your way up to the top.
Furthermore, starting all over again can
even mean moving back in with your
parents for example, (if your living
condition is unstable at the moment, and
if your parents are willing to accept
you).
Therefore,
money is
going to become a huge contributing
factor to fixing your life. |
 |
|
| |
Let’s face facts.
There aren’t too many heroin addicts or
recovering drug addicts who are well off
financially. There may be some, but not a whole
lot. And even then, anything can happen when
you’re hooked on dope. You can lose it
all in just one day.
You can get busted and end up in jail. Your kids
can get taken away from you from the drug-free
parent or Child Protective Services. You can get
robbed and hurt in the streets. And believe it
or not, you can over-dose and die.
Anything can happen, when you’re hooked on
heroin.
Some of you may still be in good shape with
jobs, cars, houses, medical insurance and more.
But if you’re like most heroin addicts then most
likely you’re broke. You have no money, no car,
(or junk car), and quite possibly no stable
place to live. Or, you may have a car and a
stable place to live but you’re still broke.
Either way, most of you need money, and you need
it fast. But you can’t get money and
save money while you’re still getting high,
otherwise you’ll waste it all on drugs. And
you can’t begin to fix your life while
you’re still using drugs.
You have to stop using first, in order
to earn and save money and then proceed to fix
your life.
And if you’re already working, then once you
stop getting high, then automatically, you’ll
begin to save/earn a minimum of $600 per month
which is one $20 dope bag per day. This is one
reason why you have to quit heroin and stay
clean for good – is to start making money and
saving money as well.
And once you’ve quit drugs, stayed clean for
some time, and have the power to resist
temptation, then maybe, just maybe, life
can begin to trust you with a little bit of
money in your hands. But again,
sometimes, we have to start from the bottom and
work our way up.
And just as there are steps to take when
quitting heroin, there are also steps to take
when solving your financial problems as well.
However, as long as you’re living a
dishonest life then there’s a good chance that
you might not be able to get ahead in life, at
least not for too long.
So before you go any further in trying to fix
your life, you may want to make a decision, to
do your best to start living a clean,
decent, honest life from here on out.
Otherwise, there’s a good chance that nothing's
going to work out for you and nothing's going to
change.
I’m not saying that you can change over night,
because no one changes just like that. And
sometimes, it takes years to change. But once
you make that decision to do your best
to live a clean, decent, honest life,
then can you begin to put a universal law into
action - the law of sowing and reaping.
Yet honesty has many different forms as well.
For example, some people think its ok to lie as
long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. And some people
are so used to lying that almost everything they
say is a lie, (even when they don’t have to
lie).
But suffice it to say that lying is
wrong and dishonest. And if you want to
increase your chances of being able to fix your
life then I encourage you to do your
best to stop lying and start telling the truth
no matter how hard it becomes to do so.
A person who tells no lies and speaks
only the truth, is priceless; because honesty is
the most important trait to have.
Then there’s the matter of stealing.
Stealing and taking what doesn’t belong to you
is always wrong no matter what. It doesn’t
matter if you or your family are hungry and
starving for food, it’s always wrong to steal no
matter what. Yet even theft takes on many forms
as well.
For example, looking in someone else’s medicine
cabinet without their permission is a form of
theft, (even if you didn’t steal anything). It’s
an invasion of privacy and a violation of basic
ownership rights.
Even looking in someone else’s refrigerator
without their permission is a form of theft and
a lack of respect for other peoples’
property.
But the worst form of theft, is stealing, and
taking what doesn’t belong to you. And this is
one bad habit that has to stop. In fact, it’s
more important to stop stealing than it is to
quit using drugs. But once you quit drugs, then
there’s no reason to steal any longer.
Yet so many times, even after quitting drugs,
many people still have the habit of stealing,
even if they don’t need to steel or need the
item they stole. And as a result, this form of
dishonesty becomes a life long habit and a curse
as well.
And I can assure you, that if you continue to
steal in any way, shape or form, then your life
will never change and quite possibly become
worse as time goes on.
Furthermore, when we steal from others, then
sooner or later, others will steal from us. Or
whatever money we do have, will be taken from
us, in one way or another.
We reap what we sow. And if you want to fix your
life, then the best thing to do is to stop
stealing once and for all. Otherwise, nothing
will change and you’ll never get ahead.
And to stop stealing you need to first realize
that it’s wrong to steal no matter what, and then begin to go to
war with yourself every time temptation comes
around.
In other words, to stop stealing you’re going to
have to battle yourself and force yourself to
stop, before you do it, or even during the
process as well. You have to stop yourself from
stealing. Otherwise, someday, you may end
up dope-sick in jail. And being sick in jail is
the worst thing in the world.
But once you quit drugs, clear your head and
return to your right mind, then little by little
you’ll be able to think clearer and make better
decisions before doing something wrong, such as
stealing.
Another form of dishonesty is the act of
manipulating people for financial gain.
Furthermore, most recovering addicts continue to
manifest this behavior even after they’re done
with drugs simply because they’re never taught
differently. And if we want to fix our lives,
then the best thing to do is to make a conscious
decision to stop manipulating people for
any type of gain. And in order to do
so, you must become more conscientious about
what you do and what you say and catch yourself
even before you say a word.
For example, your mind may begin to device a
plan to manipulate someone into giving you
something you want or something you need. But
you can stop yourself before you carry
out the actual act of manipulation or
receive compensation of any kind. You can catch
yourself right there in the act and put a stop
to it. Furthermore, the act of manipulation
itself can be carried out in many forms as well.
For example, telling someone like your parents
for example, about your financial problems with
the hopes that they’re going to offer to help
you out with a hand out of some sort is an act
of manipulation.
Even hinting and giving small hints of
your financial situation for the sake of
financial gain is an act of manipulation and is
a form of theft. It is deceitful and
it’s an ugly form of dishonesty. Not only that,
but people catch on to that type of stuff and
they just wont trust you. In fact, they'll want
to stay away from you and have nothing to do
with you.
Furthermore, it’s wrong to take what
someone else has worked hard for. And
most of all, it’s not your parents’ or anyone
else’s responsibility to fix your problems.
It’s no one else’s responsibility to fix
our problems but ourselves. You’re in
the mess you’re in now because you put yourself
there, maybe not intentionally, but what’s done
is done. Your life is messed up financially
mainly because of drugs. And this is
what heroin does – it messes up everything and
leaves you broke.
The only way that you’re going to fix your life
is to do your best to take
responsibility and fix your own mistakes.
Otherwise, your life will never change and
you’ll keep having the same problems over and
over again. And any money that you were able to
obtain from manipulate others will be here one
day and then gone the next. Easy come, easy go.
You can hint and manipulate people for money
today, but it will be gone tomorrow, and you’ll
be right back where you started but even further
in the hole, because now you’ll have to go back
and make things right with the person you
manipulated for money in the first place.
Suffice it to say, that manipulating
others for the sake of gain is wrong.
“You can’t do wrong and get by.”
LDA
So the best thing to do is to stop doing
wrong and start doing right. We need to
do our best to start taking
responsibility for our own actions and our own
problems because that’s the only way
that our lives are going to change.
Now, don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong
with explaining your financial problems to
someone in order to seek advice on how to fix
your problems, if indeed, those are your true
motives. If you’re discussing your problems with
someone for the purpose of finding solutions
then that’s fine. And you might even be able to
obtain guidance and direction in this manner.
I get a lot of people telling me their personal
and financial problems all the time. That’s
different. They’re not trying to manipulate me
for the sake of gain of any kind. They’re simply
seeking advice on what to do, and there’s
nothing wrong with that.
And there’s nothing wrong with obtaining a loan
that you can afford to make payments on and in
which you have every intension to pay off in
full.
But one of the reasons why most people’s lives
never change is because with or without drugs,
they retain this manipulative and dishonest
behavior all through their lives. And as a
result, they never learn to take responsibility
for their own actions and their lives become a
series of ups and downs.
So remember this now: No matter
how hard things get, we must do our best
to fix our own problems without the
help from others. And believe it or not, just by
putting this one major principle into action,
your life can begin to change.
And who knows, you may get some help along the
way in some form or another, but it won’t be by
telling people about your financial problems for
the sake of gain. Instead, it will be
life showing you mercy for doing your best to do
things right.
And I realize that not everyone has that problem
of being manipulative for the sake of gain. But
for those that do, then now’s the best
time for change. It’s time to
start living an honest life so that things can
begin to work out for you and most importantly,
because it’s the right thing to do.
This is a mark of maturity and can become the
beginning of a whole new way of life for you.
And once you begin to live in such a manner,
then sooner or later, life can begin to
open doors for you. But at least now,
you’ll be able to go out there and look for work
with a clear conscience knowing that at
least you’re doing your best to live a clean,
decent, honest life.
Now, you can go out there and get that money.
But there’s only one way to do that, and that’s
to work, and work hard.
|
How to fix your work
situation
|
No work, no eat. And if
you want to eat, then you have to work.
And if you want to fix your messed up
life then you’re going to have work
hard, and much harder than the average
person.
And I promise you, that once you
begin to do your best to live a clean,
decent, honest life then things will
begin to change in one form or
another. Your whole life will begin to
change.
But it won’t happen over night. And it
won’t happen by itself. You have
to do your best to make it happen.
And once you do, then life can begin to
show you favor. People will begin to
show you favor. And doors will begin to
open.
Don’t get me wrong, you may still have
to reap from your deeds of the past. But
the best thing to do is to take the
hits, get it over with, and move on with
your life full speed ahead.
And if you don’t have a job or any money
at the moment, then the next thing to do
is to start looking for work in order to
start making and saving money as well.
And you might be able to do so if you
plan well first. |
 |
|
| |
Wake up early and plan
your days wisely. For waking up early
contributes to health and wealth.
Check your resources. Ask
yourself, what are you good at? What did you do
before you quit or got fired from your last job?
What skills do you already have?
If you have any kind of skills, training or
experience in any particular field then create a
resume to the best of your ability and go to
your local unemployment office to start looking
for work in that field. But whatever you do,
don’t lie on your resume or application.
And if there are any possible openings and even
places where applications are being accepted
then start there.
If you have a facebook account, then
update your facebook status daily with
the headline, “Looking for work…does anyone know
of any place hiring? I need work badly”, or
something along those lines. It’s possible that
someone who knows someone who’s hiring will see
your status and notify you of a possible job
opening. (And you may want to keep your
facebook page clean as well to increase
the chances of
someone recommending you for hire.)
Then go through your local phone book and
call every single company related to
your field. Ask them if they’re hiring
or accepting applications. If so, then go there
personally to fill out the application, hand
them a resume or fax them your resume if you’re
not able to go there in person.
You can also visit job search web sites
such as
monster.com, (which is monster and Yahoo
HotJobs combined), and/or
careerbuilder.com,
indeed.com,
simplyhired.com,
Aol Jobs and others as well. Type in what
kind of job you’re looking for, where you want
to work and then click search.
Then move on to local temp agencies.
Go visit every temp agency in your area, fill
out applications and submit resumes in person.
And if you can’t find anything in your related
field of expertise then they may have something
related to your field in one form or another.
But if not, then keep moving forward and
keep looking for work elsewhere.
If you’re young then go to the mall and
start filling out applications at all
the stores there. And then last case scenario,
if you can’t find anything then go to McDonalds,
7-11, Taco Bell, or anywhere you can to find
work. Take whatever you can get for now until
you find something better or something better
comes your way.
Remember, the person who’s willing to
work anywhere, for any pay and be thankful for
it, will sooner or later move on to bigger and
better as life tends to reward those
who are thankful for whatever they can get.
But the person who thinks he’s is too good to
work here or too good to work there will most
likely remain unemployed. Therefore,
take whatever you can get for now and be
thankful for it. And in the mean time,
keep looking for work, and don’t stop looking
until you find work. And as long as
you’re trying to live a clean, decent, honest
life, then sooner or later doors will begin to
open.
Furthermore, it should be noted that
most heroin addicts and recovering addicts have
the qualities and characteristics of an
entrepreneur. And if that’s you, then
sooner or later, you may want to
consider starting your own business.
And if you have an ethical and sound business
idea, then go for it. Start your own
business. Even if you have to work a
dead end job to save enough capital to start it,
then do it. Work, save up and then start your
own business.
You can also start an internet business
as well, which takes little to no start-up money
at all. You can sell online with an online store
or sell stuff on auction sites like Amazon and
eBay.com. You can start a blog or
build a high traffic website based upon
popular and important issues and make money by
placing ads on your site.
There are many ways to make money online and
doing so is a lot easier than you might think.
And if you’re a single mom and want to
stay home with your kids, then building
a website and starting a business online might
be something that can work for you too.
And if you already have a failed or dormant
business, then do everything you can to get your
business back up and running better than ever
before. Because once you remove dope and
dishonesty from your life, then there’s no
reason why you can’t succeed.
And at first, you may have to work 2 jobs; a
full time and a part time, or even 2 full time
jobs. You have to be willing to do
whatever it takes to get yourself out of your
present circumstances while living a clean,
decent, honest life.
I remember many many years ago, (a few years
after I quit dope), I was living paycheck to
paycheck but not able to make ends meet. So then
I started working 2 full time jobs; 16 hours per
day, 80 hours per week, (and sometimes more).
I would go to my first full time job at the
print shop from 8am till 5pm, Monday through
Friday. Then I would come home, eat, and sleep
from 6pm till like 9:30pm. Then I would take a
shower and head off to pull a full third shift
from 10pm till 6am at the 7-11 corner store.
Then by 6:15am, I would go home, eat breakfast,
get dressed and take off back to my full time
day job at the print shop and work all day. And
then I’d go home, rest and do it all over again.
There were many times that I fell asleep while
driving. But I'm thankful that I never crashed
or made anyone else crash in the process.
I did
that for 7 months straight, no breaks, but I was
able to pay the bills, put food on the table and
even save up some money as well.
Then finally, after 7 months, I was done with
those 2 full time jobs and found one good, full
time job at another print shop that paid me more
and always gave me over time hours. I was able
to start an internet business as well. And then
right after work, I would go straight home to
work on my business. Then after a few months of
working my business, it finally took off.
I made $1,000 net profit the first month, $2,000
the second month, $3,000 the third month and by
then I was finally able to take a chance and
quit working for “the man” and never went back
again.
By my 7th month in business I had earned $14,000
net profit for month 7. The business was crazy,
phones ringing off the hook and the next step
was to either sell it or move into an office and
hire employees. So by month 8 I sold it
for $137,000 and took a long and much
needed vacation on Margarita Island which lasted
for years.
And you can do the same. If you want
something, then go get it. Work for it.
But whatever you decide to do, do it in an
honest an ethical manner. No lying, no
cheating, no stealing, no nothing.
Those days are over for you.
And at first, you might have to work hard, real
hard, and then either search for opportunities
or make them happen. Or work all day and go to
school at night. You may have to move back in
with your parents, live in a hotel, or look into
home tending in your area of choice.
But in the beginning it's always hard
and all hard work. It’s always hard when you’re
trying to fix your life and start all over again
from scratch. But in the end, you can
come out on top and better than ever before.
And the main thing to remember is that what
you’re going through now is temporary.
Your present circumstances is only temporary.
Things can change. You can help to make them
change. And the faster you move then the
faster your life will begin to change.
And if you already have a job then great!
Wonderful! Be thankful for the job you have. But
if you’re miserable there, then either start
looking for a better job or go back to school to
earn a degree or certification in a field that
you’ll enjoy the most.
Although it may take some time to do so, the
best thing in the world is to work a job that
you love and enjoy doing. Do some soul
searching. Find out who you really are and what
it is that you really want to do. Learn, train
and look for work in that area and then let life
take care of the rest.
Or, learn to love the job you have and
focus on the more important things in life, like
your family, your health and your personal
development. But either way, if you’re
on the right track, then sooner or later, you’ll
end up where you’re supposed to be, and all
things will work out for good.
|
How to fix your
living situation
|
If you’re still
living with your mom, your dad or both
then be thankful. You got it
made. They could have thrown
you out a long time ago, but they
didn't.
And although your ultimate goal should
be to move out, get your own place and
move on with your life - for now, you’re
going to have to start helping them out
with the rent, mortgage and the bills
while at the same time saving up for
your next move, (unless of course,
you’re still young and they want you to
stay there).
But even if they insist on allowing you
to stay there for free, the
right thing to do is to
find some way to
contribute to the home in order
to earn your stay.
If you’re not able to work for whatever
reason then maybe you can help out by
keeping the house clean, mowing the
lawn, washing the car and things of that
nature. But you can’t live off
your parents for free. |
 |
|
| |
Yet if moving back in
with your parents is out of the question for any
reason then you’re going to have to do something
else to fix your living situation.
And again, you may be fine in your current
circumstances, but I write for the benefit of all
and especially for those who are living in the
worse type of situations possible. And believe
me, some people are just barely living, barely
surviving and just hanging on by a thread with
just a little bit of hope left.
But even then, we must always be
thankful for whatever living situation we’re in,
because it could be worse, much worse and
eventually, it will become worse if you keep
messing around with drugs. But if you’re getting
ready to get clean, or in the process of getting
clean and need to fix your life then
keep on reading.
Some of you may be better off moving into a
hotel instead of moving in with people who use
drugs or drink and like to party. And if
living in a hotel is the only option then do it.
If you can afford to live in a cheap hotel and
have no other choice, then do it, just for now.
And then keep working a full
time and maybe even a part time job and
start saving up like crazy. Spend as
little as you can on yourself and save as much
as you can for your next phase. And always keep
reminding yourself that your situation
is only temporary and all of this will
change, especially, if you’re doing your best to
live a clean, decent, honest life.
So don’t worry, because eventually, you’re going
to get out of that hotel and move on to bigger
and better. But it may have to do for now until
things get better and more funds become
available.
However, if you have a good, full time paying
job, then it’s quite possible to get
into a cheap apartment in an ok area.
But even then there are some qualifications that
may have to be met.
For example, in most places, you’ll need to
provide proof that you make at least 3 times the
monthly rent of the apartment. Or you may get
lucky and find an apartment complex where you
only have to make 2.5 x the rent and therefore
can qualify with a minimum wage job.
You can also move into low income housing as
well - yes, the ghetto.
But you have to have some type of income
coming in or sign the lease with the
help of a family member if you don’t make enough
money to qualify for that 3 X the monthly rent
figure, or you would be required to pay the
first 3 months rent on the lease.
They may run a credit check on you as well,
looking for missed or late payments. And even
then, some apartment managers are more than
willing to over look slow credit issues.
However, if you have any prior evictions from a
house or an apartment for not paying the rent
then that can make it very difficult to rent an
apartment in an ok area. But even then, some
property managers may not check for past
evictions or credit history even though they say
they do. It all depends on where you’re
trying to live.
And if you’ve recently been convicted of a
felony then that too can make it difficult to
find an apartment to rent. But if you’re going
to move into the ghetto, then you may not have
to worry about any of that stuff. And in the
beginning, you might have to move into the
ghetto and then work as hard as you can
and save up enough money to get out of the
ghetto as fast as you can.
And some of you, may even have to sleep in a
car for a while, at least until you can find a
job. But as long as you’re doing the
right thing, then sooner or later, things can
begin to change.
When you start doing right and stop doing wrong
then things begin to change. It may take some
time and hard work, but things begin to change.
So try not to worry too much about how you're
going to eat or where you’re going to live.
If you’re doing your best to live a clean,
decent, honest life, then sooner or later,
things may begin to work out for you in ways
that you never thought possible.
Good things happen to those who change.
And if you already have a place to live then be
thankful. You’re much better off than most
addicts are.
But whether you’ll be living with your parents,
in a hotel, or in your own apartment,
you’ll need to make it a goal to have a place to
eat, sleep and live in order to start moving
ahead in life.
And if you want to relocate to somewhere new,
sunny and warm then make
relocating one of your goals. Start planning
on how, where and when, and then do it.
You should always be trying to better your
living situation in some form or another.
And you should always be striving to provide the
best circumstances for you and for your family,
because life without goals is meaningless.
So if you need to fix your living situation then
start planning and start doing now. And as long
as you're doing your best to do the right thing,
then eventually, things can begin to work out
for you.
