HOW TO QUIT HEROIN COLD TURKEY |
| |
Get ready for the
greatest battle of your life!
It's time
to put on the gloves and fight
like you’ve never fought before.
And if you have any money left
at all then you may want to
stock up on the following items
before you begin:
|
|
Water,
is the most important
element your body will
ever need. You can live
without food for a few
days, but you can’t live
without water.
Therefore, try to get
enough bottled water for
the next 7 days. Your
body consists of 70%
water. The less water
you have in your body
then the weaker you'll
feel. |
 |
|
|
 |
|
| |
|
|
|
The more
water you’re able to drink and hold down then
the stronger your body will become and the
better your body will feel. Also, water
detoxifies the body and helps regulate body
temperature. Your muscles, especially your
larger muscle groups such as your leg muscles
will begin to feel much better much faster when
they're hydrated with water since your muscles
are made up of 75% water.
Furthermore, one tall glass
or bottle of cold water can energize your body
within minutes. Therefore, water is the most
important element your body will need during the
next several days. |

NyQuil
nighttime flu medicine, (Night
Nurse in the UK): Heroin withdrawal
symptoms are worst than the worst flu
symptoms in the world, multiplied 1000
fold.
However, taking flu medicines such as
NyQuil or DayQuil every 3 to 4 hours
will begin to reduce withdrawal/flu
symptoms after the first few dosages.
Furthermore, it may even give you a
slight buzz to help reduce anxiety as
well. (Benadryl also helps as well) |
 |
|
|
|
|
 |
Imodium AD,
is an over-the-counter, anti diarrhea
drug which
contains Loperamide, and Loperamide is an
opioid drug which helps
to relieve diarrhea, stomach cramps and other
withdrawal symptoms as well when taken at
high dosages every 5 to 6 hours.
In fact, it’s quite possible to quit
heroin just by taking 24mg
(12 caplets) to 30mg (15 caplets) of
Imodium every 5 to 6 hours for the first
2 to 3 days along with 400mg (2 tablets)
of "Tagamet" and feel quite well.
(NOTE: Walmart, Sams or any generic Imodium is fine)
|
 |
|
|
|
NOTE:
High dosages of Imodium may keep you constipated
while using it and it may be better for
you and your intestines to allow yourself some
bowl movements first before going high on the
Imodium. However, suffice it to say that taking Imodium
at high levels washed down by grapefruit juice,
(non-concentrated), works well. Most addicts are able to
find the most relief when taking 30mg to 40mg or more
every 5 to 6 hours for the first 2 to 3 days. And the Imodium/Tagamet
combination works best. Both are OTC meds. |
|
|
|
 |
Valerian
Root Capsules, also known as
natures Valium, is an herbal supplement
which can be used to relieve anxiety and
restlessness.
Valerian Root and Valiums seem to affect
the brain in a similar manner, binding
to the same receptors and having similar
effects to those of valiums. Valerian
Root capsules make an excellent, natural
substitute for Valiums when taken in
double the dosage throughout the day.
(Valerian Root capsules can be purchased
at Walmart. And in the UK and other
countries, you should be able to get
Valerian Root capsules at any local
pharmacy, natural supplement or vitamin
store.) |
 |
|
|
|
|
 |
Anti-Nausea
and upset stomach remedies: OTC
(over-the-counter) medicines which may
help alleviate nausea and upset stomachs
are Pepto-Bismol, Maalox and Mylanta. A
couple of large spoons of either one
throughout the day may help. You may
want to start taking these medicines
before you start getting really sick in
order to hold them down and relieve the
nausea before it even begins.
Other effective OTC Anti-Nausea
medications include Emetrol,
Nauzene, and Dramamine, all of which can
be purchased at Walmart or from your
local pharmacy. |
 |
|
|
|
|
 |
Gatorade can help
restore electrolytes in your system and
can be watered down as well. Taking sips
of Gatorade can help you regain and
sustain energy and prevent dehydration
as well.
Even rinsing your mouth with Gatorade
can help restore electrolytes and help
you to perform better. Gatorade also
contains potassium which helps to
replenish potassium stores and prevent
muscle cramping during walks. And best
of all Gatorade taste great. |
 |
|
|
|
|
 |
Bread and
Peanut butter: Although you
might not be able to eat for the first 2
to 3 days, you might however be able to
chew and swallow quarters or even half
cut peanut butter sandwiches.
This is what they
feed the prisoners who are going through
heroin withdrawal here at the 33rd
Street jail in Orlando Florida. Peanut
butter sandwiches provide protein,
fiber, sugar carbohydrates and increase
endorphin levels as well. Peanut butter
sandwiches will also provide energy for
your body as well. |
 |
|
|
|
|
|
|
NOTE: If at
all possible, you may want to start
taking some "Milk of Magnesia" a couple
of days before starting your cold turkey
detox in order to let go of some of that
waste from your intestines. Milk of
Magnesia, (magnesium hydroxide), is a
milky-white liquid medicine that is used as a
hydrating laxative and relieves constipation
within six hours. And doing this before quitting will reduce
diarrhea when starting your cold turkey detox.
More OTC
medicines and remedies are listed below. And if
you have any money left at all then obtaining
the items mentioned above will help you greatly
when quitting heroin cold turkey.
However, even with OTC
meds, vitamins and supplements, quitting heroin
cold turkey will not be easy by any means and
may be dangerous for some depending on your
present state of health. But...it can be done.
And it’s been done over and over and over again,
and you can do it too! |

QUITTING HEROIN COLD TURKEY |
 |
I realize
that quitting heroin cold turkey is easier said
than done. I've been through the bone crushing
pains and horrific cold chills many times. Never
the less, you may want to consider quitting
heroin cold turkey first, because once you're
done, you're done. That’s it. You won’t have to
taper down from anything else.
Furthermore, we learn a far
greater lesson and have a far greater fear for
heroin when we quit heroin cold turkey. The
painful withdrawals are, in a sense, our reaping
for being so foolish for trying heroin in the
first place, turning our bodies into heroin
slaves, and for hurting those who love us the
most. Either way, this will be an experience you
will never forget.
NOTE: If
you're going to quit Methadone, Oxycontin, or
Suboxone then please taper down as low as you
can first. Quitting Methadone or Oxycontin cold
turkey can become extremely painful and deadly
as well.
When quitting Heroin cold
turkey you just set a date, finish your last
bag, then stop completely and to a certain
degree isolate yourself from the rest of the
world. And the hardest part is going through the
physical withdrawal symptoms for the first 4 to
5 days.
Withdrawals may persist to
a certain degree for several days more with many
users depending on how you go about quitting
heroin cold turkey. If you just lie there in bed
while going through withdrawal then you may
never get up again. But if you do what my
articles tell you to do then you will live like
never before.
The mental and emotional
anguish are just as bad. But if you do what my
articles tell you to do then you just might make
it out of this thing alive and well. And after
this, you'll never be the same again.
Guaranteed! |
|
|
|
|
|
One thing's for
sure - this will be the greatest battle
you’ll ever go through in your life.
You’re going to go
to war against yourself, your demons,
and those heroin demons as well.
So hang in there my
dope brothers, and my dope sisters, for
this is one battle you’ll never forget.
But once you’re done, and you’ve won,
then you can truly move on with your
life, once and for all.
And once you've
decided to quit heroin cold turkey then
if at all possible, it would be best to
tell someone such as a close family
member or drug-free friend so that they
can stay with you, help, and support you
or at least check up on you during the
first few days.
You’ll have a much
better chance of conquering your heroin
addiction with a 'drug-free' quitting
buddy by your side. But if you don’t
have anyone else to help you then please
let me know. I’ll do whatever I can to
help, support and encourage you to “be
strong and stay in the battle”. |
 |
|
|
|
|
 |
But believe it or not,
with or without a quitting buddy, you can still
do this. If you really want it, then you can do
it. And I’ll be more than happy to help you in
any way that I can. So don’t be afraid to reach
out for help.
WARNING: Although highly
unlikely, sudden withdrawal by heavily dependent
users who are in extreme poor health can become
fatal. Those in poor health should not try to do
this alone.
WARNING #2:
Pregnant women addicted to heroin should not
attempt to quit heroin cold turkey as
this can cause miscarriage and/or major brain
damage to your unborn child and possibly even
death. Please read my article, "Quitting Heroin
While Pregnant" for step by step instructions on
how to quit heroin while being pregnant.

But if you've been dope
sick before for 24 hours or more then don't
worry, for thou shall not die.
“Hi
Jorge!!! I just wanna say its day 6!!! Wow it
was a struggle for me to get here cold turkey.
The first five days were pure hell!! I just kept
reading what u wrote and hung on for dear life.
I never made it outside because of the freezing
cold but did make myself do jumping jacks
everyday throughout the day, you have truly
saved my life thank you very very much from the
bottom of my heart!!” GC (female)
"Thanks so much for this
site man. Because this site exists. I'm 7 days
clean man. And the worst is over! I owe you my
life. I'll never meet you, but my life is in
debt to you. Thanks man..." RF (male)
"Thank you. Your advise was
the best around.. running, hot baths,
suppliments! 7 days sober today! Thank you for
assuring me that I was not dying. I really did
question it for a few days lol.." SH
(female)
And if she can do it, then
you can do it too!
You can quit heroin
cold turkey at home or far away from
home such as in a hotel room, or in the home of
a family member or friend. And if at all
possible, then it would be best to get as far
away from the dope spot as possible. But if you
have no choice, then don’t worry - do it at
home, and prepare yourself for the greatest
battle of your life.
Try to stack up on
everything you’ll need to survive for the next 7
days i.e. water, Nyquil, Valerian Root
Capsules, bread, peanut butter, soup, food,
bananas, vitamins, Gatorade, over the counter
pharmaceutical medicines such as anti-nausea and
anti-diarrhea medications, good movies, etc. And
you may also want to consider using music to
help you get through the first 7 days.
Try not to have any
cash on you and if at all possible,
leave your ATM card with someone you can trust;
parents, friends etc… This helps to avoid the
temptation to go out, buy, and use. |
| |
|
| |
ERASE YOUR DEALERS
PHONE NUMBER |
 |
It’s also important
to erase your dealers' phone number from
your cell phone right away along with
any of your other friends who use drugs
(but don’t care to change).
And for some of you, it would also be best to “change your
phone number right away” lest the
dope-man start calling you to sell you
dope and keep you hooked. (Just hearing
his voice will become a great
temptation.)
Once your dealer doesn’t hear from
you then there's a good chance that he
might start calling you. And he may even
show up at your door step uninvited with
a free bag in hand. He needs your money
to support his habit as well.
|
 |
|
| |
But just remember one
thing – the dope-man, your dealer, is not your
friend. And if he’s not trying to change then
he’s the enemy in disguise and he’s there to
contribute to your destruction by selling you
poison to help ruin your life. Because that’s
what heroin does – it ruins lives and tears
families apart.
And your dealer is providing you with these
drugs of mass destruction. Therefore, total and
permanent separation is a must. Dump him! You
won’t need him anymore. And from here on out,
it’s all about you, and quitting this drug once
and for all!
Burn your bridges! Destroy all
your works, your paraphernalia, your needles,
your spoon, your old cotton balls, your tie
belt, your aluminum foil strips, your empty
baggies, balloons, your straws, your squirt
bottle, your roaches, your lighters, all of it.
Destroy it all and get it out of your home right
away. Burn all bridges back to that lifestyle
once and for all! |

HEROIN WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS |
 |
Heroin withdrawal symptoms
can become some of the worse withdrawals an
addict can experience compared to withdrawals
from any other drug.
Symptoms of heroin
withdrawal include: |
| |
 |
Cold
chills |
 |
Leg
pains |
 |
Leg
kicking |
 |
Back
pains |
 |
Muscle
cramps |
 |
Stomach
cramps |
 |
Nausea
and vomiting |
 |
Diarrhea |
 |
Headaches |
|
 |
Shaking
and trembling |
 |
Anxiety
and panic attacks |
 |
Insomnia and restlessness |
 |
Loss of
appetite |
 |
Watery
eyes |
 |
Runny
nose |
 |
Excessive yawning |
 |
Depression |
 |
and
crying... crying for heroin |
|
|
| |
|
| |
Heroin addiction is both physical and
psychological and can cause you to experience
symptoms of schizophrenia for the first few
days. But don’t worry – for this too shall pass.
And eventually, it will all fade away.
Withdrawal symptoms can begin six to eight hours
after your last dose was snorted, smoked, or
injected. And major withdrawal symptoms peak
between 48 and 72 hours after your last dose and
should begin to decrease by Day 4 or day 5,
(when you follow my articles to the letter.)
However, some people may show persistent
withdrawal symptoms for 7 to 10 days and go
through flu-like symptoms for weeks to come, so
be prepared, but don't be scared, for thou shall
not die.
Those who just lie there in bed and do nothing
may stay sick for weeks. You will have to help
your body fight back by forcing yourself to
remain active each and every day.
Again, this will be the greatest fight
of your life. But if you can manage to
quit heroin, then I can assure you that you can
accomplish anything in life! So you may want to
start planning what you're going to do with the
rest of your life so that you’ll know where
you’re heading from here on out. |
| |
|
| |
IN THE BEGINNING |
 |
The first 3-5 days are the hardest. You
may actually believe that you're going
to die but again, fear not, for thou
shall not die. And when you're done and
have broken free from this horrific
addiction, then thou shall live like
never before.
Furthermore, this may be the best time
for you to even quit smoking (if you
desire to do so) since cigarettes will
taste nasty when quitting heroin cold
turkey. You may want to use this
opportunity to go all the way and quit
everything. (But of course, that’s up to
you)
“Going all the way” has been one of the
most successful ways to quitting all
drugs and staying clean for good. (Just
something else to think about for now)
When quitting heroin cold turkey, you
may also start to panic right from the
start. Your mind will begin to instruct
you on how to get your next fix. And
this is where you literally tell
yourself aloud to "shut up! I can do
this!"
Get in front of the mirror and keep
repeating to yourself out loud, "I can
do this! I can do this!",… all day long.
Then keep pressing on and keep moving
forward!
|
 |
|
| |
You’re already crazy
for doing heroin in the first place so don’t be
afraid to talk to yourself and encourage
yourself to hang in there and stay in the
battle. Take a good look in the mirror and take
a moment to see what heroin has done to you, and
to your life. Take a picture of yourself with
your cell phone cam as a reminder this "life
moment changing". That should be enough to get
you moving. |
| |
|
| |
WALK, RUN OR JOG |
 |
And
although you’re going to feel bad during the
next few days you should try to go outside and
walk, run or jog. Walking helps a lot. It helps
relieve leg pains, muscle pains, bone pains,
anxiety and restlessness. You’ll feel much
better once you get outside for a walk.
However, running and jogging helps
tremendously. Running increases
endorphin levels which are your brains' natural
pain killers. And the more you run then the
better you’ll feel.
So drink some water, put on your sneakers, and
then start running like Rocky Balboa. And don’t
stop running till you can’t run no more. |
| |
|
| |
You’ll
notice that while your running you’ll hardly
feel any withdrawal symptoms at all. And you’ll
almost feel as if you were healed!
The chills and those bone crushing leg pains
will disappear while you’re running as if it was
a miracle. But you can’t run forever so you’ll
want to take short brakes to catch your breathe.
And if you go out running at night time then be
sure you take your identification card with you.
If someone sees you running down the block in
the middle of the night then they’re bound to
call the cops on you. Then you'll have a lot of
explaining to do to the cops.
If you start running and jogging during
the first 7-14 days, then I promise you;
you will begin to feel so much better,
and so much faster than if you were just
to stay home, lie in bed, and wither
away. |
 |
|
 |
So if at all possible,
the best thing to do is to get up, get dressed,
drink water, and force yourself to start running
as if your life depended on it. Do everything
you can to increase endorphin levels and
decrease pain, and in time, you will begin to
feel better.
Someone says, “How in the world do you expect me
to go out for a long fast walk, jog or run when
I just finished throwing up and crawled back
into bed and feel sick like a dog?”
Good question - now here's one for you: If you
just finished throwing up and started crawling
back to bed, and while you were crawling on the
floor you found a $20 bill, (and your cell phone
was cut off), what would you do? You know very
well what you would do.
You would become the happiest man or woman alive
and within seconds. You would stop crying and
you would force yourself to get up, get dressed
and run right through the door like the
incredible hulk on the run.
You wouldn't even brush your teeth. You would
just take off like a rocket straight to the
dope-spot and nothing could stop you. And
miraculously, within minutes, you would start to
feel better 'walking and running fast', knowing
that even after an hours walk to the dope spot
you were going to be healed.
You may have to make a stop along the way to
throw up on the side walk or hit the 7-11
bathrooms to deal with the diarrhea. But you
would just do it, get it over with, and continue
on, walking and running through rain, sleet, or
snow to complete your mission just to get cured.
No matter what, nothing would stop you. |
| |
|
 |
In the
same sense, if you want to feel better, then
you’ll have to use that same motivation to force
yourself to get up, get dressed, drink some
water and take a long fast walk, jog or run.
You’ll have to convince yourself with the
'thought' of, "if I force myself to get up and
start walking, then I will feel better". Then
you'll do it, and within minutes, you will begin
to feel better. And if it's too cold outside
then go to the gym and run, or to the mall and
walk around the mall just to walk and see
people.
If something is going to make you feel better,
(other than heroin), then do it. Force yourself
to get up and head out the door and start
walking, jogging or running for relief. You WILL
feel better and begin to recuperate much, much
faster.
And if you can’t run or jog then at least go for
a long fast walk as walking will help
tremendously. But don't just take my word for
it. Read what these x-heroin addicts had to say
about running, waking and getting active:
"...im staying inside. been using the tradmill
too. it really does help. running may be the
last thing a junkie feels like doing when
withdrawling but u just have to take those first
five steps (which are always the hardest) to
feel better.... this is the best ive ever done
on my own and feel like i have worked too hard
to just give up,..." NP (male)
"Thank you for the advice. I took a walk.
the bath helped a TON. I even kept down a glass
of watered down gatoraid!! :) .Now if I could
only sleep :( Thanks again. It helps to e
able to talk to someone..." MP (female)
"..i walked a mile...
and i didnt sit down or stop - darn exhausted
now!! every day is getting bettter...i am very
much hoping to be back to reasonable fitness and
possible running and cycling again within 3
weeks - today was the first sign that my body is
recovering and i went to a meeting
yesterday...." SW (female)
".... As the days gone on been feelin better
well i started feelin better after a long walk
followed by a hot bath. Lol it really helps my
legs.. hoping to get some good few hours sleep
tonight. Wish me luck lol. Thank again". SM(male)
"Jorge, I think i have mad it through the worst
of it. With your help i have made it. The
cravings are still bad but i would expect that.
Getting out and walking has really helped the
muscle and boned pain plus it helps me clear my
head. sleep is coming slow but sure. Thanks for
being there for me!!" CK (female)
"i like your article. iv just got clean of 2mg
of subutex, im at day 7... what
you say about music is true. i run
daily....anyway i just wanted to say, yours is
probably the best advise for people who want to
get clean that iv seen.... its good to be back
man...." PC (male)
"Hi Jorge thanks for your quick reply & support!
i'm still clean still.... feel a million times
better. I'm running twice a day listenen to
Rocky album feel's like im sweating it out and
feel better for it mentaly. Your website has
been talk of the week and a massive massive help
to me i really think i've cracked it, i'm there,
no turning back for me now...Once again a big
thanks to you! best wishes..." SP (male)
And if you're able to get outside, then walk,
run or jog. Because if they can do it, then you can do it too! |
| |
|
|
|
TAKE HOT
BATHS |
 |
And after you're
done walking, jogging or running, you’ll
want to take as many hot baths (not
showers, but baths) as you can.
The best thing to do to feel instant
relief is to fill up your tub up with
hot, hot water and then stay there until
the water warms down, and then fill it
up once again with hot, hot water and
stay there for as long as you possibly
can.
Relaxing in
the hot tub filled with hot,
hot water throughout the day, several
times per day, for the first week will
bring tremendous relief, almost
instantly. Guaranteed!
Long hot baths are much more effective
than hot showers. And adding Epsom Salt
to your baths can also help as well.
|
 |
|
| |
The increase in ionic
strength prevents some of the temporary skin
wrinkling ("pruning") which is caused by
prolonged immersion under water. It can also be
absorbed into the skin, reducing inflammation if
diarrhea begins to irritate the skin. |
| |
|
| |
WEAR WARM CLOTHING |
 |
Wear warm
clothing when you’re out and about and even
while indoors. You’ll be sweating a lot but
don’t let that trouble you. It’s necessary to
sweat all those toxins from your body. But if it
gets too bad then you may want to put some baby
powder on yourself and on your bed. Make sure
you have extra clean bed sheets as well as you
will be changing the bed sheets frequently.
If necessary, then you may
want to get a small space heater and stay close
to it in order to keep you warm. You can pick up
a small space heater at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, or
online store as well.
By day 5 you’ll start to
notice the withdrawal symptoms decreasing. And
by day 7 you will start feeling stronger and
restless but you will still feel withdrawals.
But that also depends on your health, and how
much heroin you've been using daily before you
quit. People who shoot up several bags per day
have a much harder time quitting than people who
snort or smoke a couple of bags per day. |
| |
|
| |
DEALING WITH
WITHDRAWALS |
 |
Cold
chills, shivering, shaking and tremors:
You’re going to feel ice cold chills during
withdrawal. Most people feel that this is the
worse part after the bone crushing leg pains.
It's worst than having the worst flu in the
world multiplied 1000 fold. You’ll even get
goose bumps on your body. But hot baths and
running will help take those cold chills away.
The chills will be very strong at the beginning
but after several days they'll start to decrease
and even go away, but only for a short time.
They'll come back again. The chills will come
and go during the day and all through the night.
But again, hot baths and running will bring
great relief.
By day 8 you may still have the chills but
they'll be mild and less painful compared to the
first few days. And you’ll have more time of
relief in between those chills. It could be 1
cold chilling episode every 5 to 10 minutes but
they will decrease and will go away as the days
go by.
To deal with the cold chills:
Spend the first 3-4 days relaxing in a bath tub
filled with HOT HOT water for as long as you
possibly can. Hot baths are much more effective
than hot showers. You can actually get through
the worse part of the withdrawals by staying in
your tub filled with hot hot water for 30 minute
periods throughout the day and the night.
Of course, you’ll need to get out every once in
a while but then get back in and stay there.
Keep your fingers and toes raised above the
water (if you can) to avoid wrinkling and
pruning skin. You can even bring your TV, or
radio into your bathroom, stay there, and relax
for a while.
If at all possible, you may want to join a gym
that has a sauna available. Then visit the sauna
at least 1 time per day and stay in there until
you can’t take it any longer. This will help
expel toxins and some of the heroin which has
attached itself to your fatty tissues. And it’s
better to sweat it all out in the sauna than in
your bed later on in the evening. The sauna will
also bring relief and alleviate some of the
withdrawals symptoms as well. It’s also a good
way to make time go by faster. Make sure that
you are well hydrated with water, Gatorade
(watered down recommended) or any type of sports
drink containing electrolytes.
To deal with cold chills: |
|
|
 |
Take long fast walks, jogs
or runs |
 |
Wear warm clothing at all
times |
 |
Sit next to a portable
heater |
 |
Sit in the sun |
 |
Eat packages of hot chicken
soup |
 |
Drink Tylenol tea for
fevers/flu or any flu/fever teas |
 |
Take Robitussin Cough Gels
(60mg to 90mg) |
 |
Take Imodium at 20mg to 30mg
every 5 to 6 hours |
 |
Take Nyquil every 3 to 4
hours. (Night Nurse in the UK) |
 |
Take long hot hot baths (not
showers, but baths) throughout
the day |
|
|

Leg
pains, bone pains, muscle pains, and restless
legs: |
 |
When going
through withdrawal, you’ll experience severe
pain in your bones and muscles, especially in
your legs. For some this is the worse part of
withdrawals. But whatever you do, try not to
punch your legs with your fist. Instead, massage
them heavily or have someone massage them for
you.
Stretch your quads hard,
repeatedly and leave them in the stretched
position for 30 seconds, rest and then repeat.
And if at all possible, find some stairs and
walk up and down those stairs until you get
tired, (yet taking breaks in between).
You can apply some heating creams,
heating pads, and take strong muscle relaxers as
well. You can find all kinds of heating and pain
relief creams at Walmart. You can also take
Ibuprofen and/or Motrin at the highest
milligram. But don’t worry. These bone pains and
muscle cramps will decrease in time when
accompanied by walking, running and exercise;
possibly 7-10 days or less.
To relieve leg pains, bone pains, and
muscle aches: |
|
|
 |
Massage you legs heavily |
 |
Apply Bengay, or other
muscle heat and pain relief
creams |
 |
Drink plenty of water to
keep your bones and muscles
hydrated |
 |
Take Ibuprofen or Motrin at
the highest milligram |
 |
Robitussin Cough Gels (60mg
to 90mg) helps alleviate RLS |
 |
Take Aleve Naproxen Sodium
Caplets at 500mg every 4-5 hours |
 |
Take frequent hot baths |
 |
Take long fast walks 3-4
times per day |
 |
Walk up and down stairs |
 |
Do squats until you get
tired |
 |
Keep moving, stretching and
flexing your quads |
 |
Run. Run. Run |
|
 |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Runny
nose, watery eyes and excessive yawning: |
 |
Keep some
tissues with you at all times to blow your nose
and wipe away the tears. (Use hand sanitizer as
well) If you need to stay alert during the day
then you may want to take some Benadryl or
Dayquil during the day and then take Nyquil at
night.
It should be noted that taking extra strength
Nyquil every 3 to 4 hours in conjunction with 1
to 2 Valerian Root Capsules can help reduce
withdrawal symptoms and anxiety as well.
To treat runny nose and watering eyes: |
|
|
 |
Take Nyquil or DayQuil every 4 to
5 hours |
 |
Take allergy medicine such as
Benadryl |
 |
Blow your nose with soft tissue
frequently |
 |
Drink Tylenol tea packets for flu
and fevers |
 |
Chew maximum strength Halls cough
drops |
 |
Chew Vitamin C chewable tablets
throughout the day |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Loss of
appetite: |
 |
You won’t feel
like eating anything for the first few days and
that’s ok but you need to drink water and eat 1
slice of bread with peanut butter, 1 to 2 hard
boiled eggs, or small portions of chicken soup
cups from 7-11. They’re cheap, quick and easy to
make and taste great as well. You’ll need to
have something in your system in order to
sustain yourself.
Half or quarter pieces of peanut butter
sandwiches may be your best bet as this will
deliver both carbohydrates and protein into your
system. And they taste great too. Peanut butter
sandwiches are what they feed the prisoners when
they’re going through heroin withdrawals because
they're easy to eat and provide energy for the
body. And the protein from the peanut butter
helps to raise endorphin (feel good) levels as
well. It’s safe and effective survival food.
Try to drink as much water as you can along with
Gatorade throughout the day. And since your body
is made up of 70% water, then water will be the
most important element your body will need over
the next few days. Your body needs water. And
the more water you drink then the better you’ll
feel.
To treat loss of appetite: |
|
|
 |
Eat, or at least try to eat lightly |
 |
Eat half or quarter pieces of peanut
butter sandwiches |
 |
Eat 1 to 2 slices of toast with
butter or 1 to 2 hard boiled eggs |
 |
Eat portions of cups/packages of hot
chicken soup |
 |
Eat 1/2 of a banana for potassium |
 |
Eat bran crackers with jelly |
 |
Eat small pieces of French or
Italian bread with butter |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Insomnia
and sleeplessness: |
 |
Most likely you
won’t be able to get any sleep for the first 3
to 4 days. You may however, be able to get 30
minute naps here and there. Sleep will come.
Your body will crash. But for now, just get it
whenever you can.
And while you’re in bed, you may start sweating
profusely so make sure you have extra clean bed
sheets on hand and baby powder to put on
yourself, on your bed and on the mattress as
well. However, sleeplessness will be the least
of your concerns. You can use that time to read
my website over and over again and start
thinking and planning on what you're going to do
with the rest of your life.
You can also take extra strength Nyquil with
Valerian Root capsules which works as a natural
sleeping aid. You can also take Valerian Root
capsules during the day and night to help calm
your nerves and relieve anxiety.
Taking Melatonin, which is a
hormone that helps to regulate sleep, can also
help you fall a sleep or at least relieve
anxiety.
Sleeplessness is all part of the withdrawals and
everyone has to go through it for the first few
days. But again, don’t worry. Sleep will come.
And eventually, your body will crash and you
will get sleep. But in the mean time, just get
it whenever you can.
Bring the TV into your bedroom.
Watching funny movies or sitcoms like Friends,
My Name is Earl, and the Big Bang Theory can
help you make it through the night. Time goes by
faster when you're watching TV sitcoms since
they run in increments of 30 minutes. Or, just
lie on your bed for 30 minutes thinking about
your life and what it’s going to be like after
being free from heroin.
To treat insomnia and sleeplessness: |
|
|
 |
Take Melatonin |
 |
Take Valerian Root capsules |
 |
Take Sominex |
 |
Take extra strength Nyquil night
time medicine every 3-4 hours |
 |
For UK residents: Take Night Nurse
every 3-4 hours |
 |
Keep telling yourself that this will
all be over with soon |
 |
Get sleep whenever you can get it |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Nausea
and vomiting: |
 |
Not everyone
vomits. And not everyone has to vomit. If you
can go to your local pharmacy and buy some over
the counter anti-vomiting/anti-nausea medicine
along with Imodium AD and
start taking it before you get really sick then
you just might be able to skip the nausea and
vomiting part. But you have to start taking it
before you get really sick in order to prevent
the nausea and vomiting from happening.
Taking Imodium AD,
(an over the counter opioid medication), at high
levels every 5 to 6 hours (or as needed) can help with nausea
and vomiting and other withdrawals symptoms. But
again, you have to start taking it before you
get really sick in order to prevent the nausea
and vomiting before it happens.
To treat nausea and vomiting: |
|
|
 |
Start taking Imodium AD at high
dosages before the
nausea begins |
 |
Take Dramamine at double the
recommended dosage before the nausea
begins |
 |
Take 2 Alka Seltzers |
 |
Go outside for some fresh air |
 |
Eat a few crackers |
 |
More OTC Anti-nausea remedies
include: Pepto-Bismol, Maalox, Mylanta,
Emetrol, and Nauzene, all of which can
be purchased at your local pharmacy or
Walmart. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Visit your local
pharmacy, purchase some
anti-nausea/anti-vomiting medicine and Imodium
AD and start taking them
before you get real sick. |
|
|
|
|
|
Diarrhea
and stomach cramps: |
 |
Believe it or
not, when quitting heroin, diarrhea is not such
a bad thing at first. The heroin in your system
has had you constipated all this time and now is
the best time to cleanse your intestines from
all that toxic waste. This is a good thing, and
you need to see it as such.
So the best thing you can do for your body is to
allow yourself to go through the diarrhea for
the first 24 hours or more in order to get rid
of as much toxic waste as possible. The less
waste you have in your body then the better your
body will feel. However, once you feel that most
of your solid waste is gone then you’ll need to
drink as much water as you can to prevent
dehydration and then restore electrolytes by
taking sips of Gatorade throughout the day.
So before you quit heroin, you may want to visit
your local pharmacy and purchase some OTC
(over-the-counter) anti diarrhea medicine or
caplets but don’t start taking them till the end
of Day 1 or day 2. But, if you have to work or
have other obligations then you may want to
start taking the anti-diarrhea caplets (at
double the dosage) before you get sick in order
to help prevent the diarrhea from happening.
To treat diarrhea and stomach cramps: |
|
|
 |
Take Imodium AD at
high dosages (20mg to 30mg
every 5 to 6 hours) |
 |
Drink Pepto-Bismol |
 |
Drink water to avoid dehydration |
 |
Take sips of Gatorade to restore
electrolytes |
 |
Eat a Banana |
 |
Take Motrin at the highest
milligrams |
 |
Take over the counter anti-diarrhea
pills or formula and start taking them
by the end of Day 1 or Day 2. (But if
you have to work then take the
anti-diarrhea pills before you get sick
in order to prevent diarrhea from taking
place.) |
|

Depression and crying: |
 |
For the first
several days, you’re going to feel depressed and
crying off and on. But don’t worry, this is only
temporary, and in time will fade away.
But in the mean time, try to watch some funny
movies or sitcoms on TV such as Friends and My
Name is Earl. Listen to good, clean music. But
whatever you do, don’t let yourself get
depressed. Instead, get happy and excited
knowing that finally you’re going to kick this
nasty heroin habit once and for all. And when
it’s all over with, you'll be like a whole new
person freed from the heroin slavery system. So
don’t worry, be happy :) you’re about to begin a
whole new life.
To treat depression: |
|
|
 |
Take Niacin (a form of vitamin B) at
3000mg's per day. (Available at
Wal-Mart) |
 |
Take St Johns Wart. (Available at
Wal-Mart) |
 |
Take DHEA which is also administered
in detox centers to decrease depression |
 |
Watch funny TV sitcoms such as
Friends and My Name is Earl |
 |
Think positive. Don't' think about
heroin |
 |
Think about what your life will be
like when you’re finally free from
heroin |
 |
Keep telling yourself, “I can do
this!” and stay positive |
 |
Try not to be alone for too long.
Try to be around other drug-free people.
Invite them to your home |
 |
When you’re home alone then keep
yourself busy by cleaning your house |
 |
Go out for many long fast walks in
the park or anywhere for that matter |
 |
Go outside without sunglasses. Let
the sunlight come in through your eyes |
 |
You may want to consider listening
to uplifting, good, clean, decent music. |
|
|
|
|
 |
Most of today's' music causes people to
go into great depression without them
even realizing that it’s the music
that’s causing them to be depressed. And
the end result is drug addiction.
It’s not just the lyrics which come
right out and instruct you to live loose
and use drugs; it’s the music and the
energy behind the music as well.
Some songs 'appear' to sound and feel
good at first yet in reality consist of
notes, tones, keys and pitches which
break musical principles causing the
brain to fall into a depressed state of
mind without the listener even realizing
what is happening to them.
|
 |
|
|
|
Those musical notes, tones, keys and
pitches hit specific neurotransmitters
in the brain which cause depression to
occur. And the effects are almost
instant and long lasting.
And continuous listening to such music
will cause continual depression which is
why so many young people today turn to
drugs, not just because they're
programmed to, but also as a means of
escape from their depressed and messed
up lives.
Furthermore,
most popular music today, particularly rap and
hip hop music, was made to corrupt and destroy
this generation and send you on a downward
spiral in every way possible. Wherever that
music is played, the energy, and the carriers
for that energy become present almost
immediately, causing the listener to begin to
transform into what that music represents.
The music of today's generation was purposely
designed and created to bring you to where
you're at now. And people wonder why they have
such messed up lives and messed up children.
It's the music! But most people don’t even
realize this.
We are the product of a messed up society. This
society is the equivalent of the factory. And
the tools and machinery being used to form and
shape our lives are TV, movies and music.
Good music gives “life” while bad music brings
death, destruction and chaos into ones life. And
if you don’t believe that then all you have to
do is look at our younger generation today.
They're all going down hill faster than ever
before and at a much younger age as well. And
behind it all is ‘the power of music’.
And this is coming from someone who grew up on
Ice Cube, Ice T, Too Short, Dr Dre, Snoop Dog,
NWA, and all the rest of them. Most of today's
TV stars and big-name rappers are being rewarded
with fame, fortune, and the pleasures of this
world to corrupt, pervert, desensitize, and
eventually destroy you from the inside out. And
they get paid to do this. The more people they
corrupt, then the more they get paid.
Furthermore, bad music draws in that negative
energy and bad influence which keeps you down,
while 'good music', put forth by 'good people'
can help drive that negative energy away and
draw positive energy into your life. Uplifting
music will lift you up, build you up, and help
you greatly in so many ways, while going through
withdrawals, and even more so afterwards as
well.
Music is a major key and can become one of the
greatest sources for positive energy to help you
get through the withdrawals and possibly even
change your life. Yes, the right kind of music
can actually change your life!
Therefore, you may want to consider the
following: Try listening to clean, decent,
positive music for a change - no rap, no hip
hop, no R&B, no reggaeton, no house, no techno,
no trance, no metal, no rock, no classic rock,
and then see, hear, and ‘feel’ the difference
for yourself.
Changing the type of music you listen to can
actually change your life forever. And as the
old saying goes; "you are what you eat", the
same is true of music. You become what you
listen to.
"Thus, what you listen to, literally
forms what you become." LDA
The following is just an example of what clean,
decent, positive music is. I've been to their
shows. I've seen, heard and felt the music. It
helped me greatly in so many ways, and it can
help you too, (if you’re open, willing, and
receptive). Click on the links below: |

Good, clean, decent music is
hard to swallow at first, just like good,
healthy food is hard to enjoy when you’ve been
used to eating junk food all your life. But in
time, you’ll get used to it and quite possibly
enjoy it.
Good music can lift you up and help make
you happy and soothes the soul as well. And
you're going to need all the help you can get.
So now you know, and “knowing is half the
battle”. And if you like your music loud then
you may want to consider investing your dope
money on a good set of computer speakers to hear
and appreciate the sound of good, clean music at
high volumes. And if your heart is open then it
just might change your life. But of course,
that's up to you. All of this, is all up to you.
But believe it or not, music is much more
powerful than what you might think.

Keep a
calendar on the wall and mark off the
days with a check mark as the days go by. i.e.
Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7,
all the way to day 40!
So how do you quit heroin cold turkey? You just
do it! Prepare yourself to quit and then do it!
Burn your bridges. Destroy your
needles, your spoon, your cotton balls, your tie
belt, your aluminum foil strips, your empty
baggies, balloons, your straw, your lighters,
all of it. Destroy it all and throw it all away.
Burn your bridges! And then do it! There's no
retreat and no turning back!
Summons up everything you have left within you,
and then start the battle and fight this thing
with all your might, all your heart, and all
your soul. Your life depends on it. Your future
is at stake. You must win this battle or die!
Yes - it's do or die my friend.
It's quit heroin or die trying. And I can assure
you that this will be the greatest battle of
your life. But the life long rewards of freedom
from heroin slavery are far greater than the
temporary suffering you'll experience during the
next several days.
I haven't touched heroin in over 19 years. And I
will never touch that or any other drug ever
again. |
|
|
|
 |
And I want you to be free too! I want
you to know what it's like to wake up
and feel your normal body once again
without the need of any drugs. No more
being sick, no more cold chills, no more
leg pains - no more nothing.
…Just pure appreciation from finally
being freed from this heroin slavery
madness once and for all. That day will
come sooner than you think if you get up
and do it now!
And believe it or not, you can
do this! I swear you can!
You know what you gotta do. And all you
gotta do now is just do it! Win this
fight, and turn your life around!
Now,... repeat after me:
"I'm gonna do this... And this
time, I'm gonna win."
