How to quit heroin: Best ways:
|
There are a few ways to quit heroin:
-Quitting heroin cold turkey with the help of OTC meds. -Quitting heroin with the help of kratom. -Quitting heroin warm turkey with pharmaceutical drugs. -Quitting heroin with the help of Suboxone or Methadone. -Quitting heroin in a drug rehab center. |
However, I can assure you, that no matter which plan you decide to use, there will be a battle. There will be a war. And it’s not going to be easy to say the least. You’ll be going through a constant battle within your mind, body and soul, and anything and everything will come against you in one form or another. And this battle will continue to go on for a very long time. It won’t be easy, but it can be done!
And if you do what my website tells you to do and start pushing yourself to start building momentum to start trying to quit and put everything you got into this then I promise you, you will quit heroin, stay clean and turn your life around. And no matter how many times you’ve tried and failed before, if you want to be free then you’re going to have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try again, and keep on trying until you get it right. Because that’s the only way you’re going to make it. And this time, try with all your might, all your heart, and all your soul - because that’s what it’s going to take to quit this thing once and for all.
No one chooses to become a heroin addict. No one decides that one day they’re going to become addicted to heroin. Maybe you started off smoking weed, then coke, and then one day decided to try heroin. But you never thought that you were going to become a heroin addict. And some of you may have been on pain medication for some time which eventually became too expensive to maintain, and as a result you turned to heroin. No matter how you got here, you’re here now. And the best thing to do is to hurry up and quit this drug, once and for all.
And for those of you who have turned to heroin from prescription pain medication for whatever the reason may be, the best thing to do would be to get heroin out of the picture first and then deal with the condition of your pain by other means. You may want to start doing some serious research on how to treat your condition of pain by other means such as physical therapy, message therapy, Shiatsu therapy, herbal supplementation, nutritional means and more.
Shiatsu therapy for example, is a Japanese massage therapy which makes use of finger and palm pressure, and sometimes little balls to press on pressure points on the body to alleviate pain, back pain, stress, anxiety and depression as well. Shiatsu treatment quickly affects the nerves to make you mentally and physically relax.
"Shiatsu technique refers to the use of fingers and the palm of one's hands to apply pressure to particular sections on the surface of the body for the purpose of correcting the imbalances of the body, and for maintaining and promoting health, and it is also a method contributing to the healing of specific illnesses." Then, why is it so important to only use hands and fingers? "Diagnosis and Therapy Combined = Essence of Shiatsu" describes how hands and fingers are indeed excellent sensory instruments that can recognize and treat 'trouble spots' in the body. Yet there is also a mystery hidden in the mechanism of the hand itself. In Japan today, people still use the word for 'treatment', 'te-a-te', which literally means "hands-on". This means that by laying hands on the body, we can cure illnesses. Historically, this refers to the hands-on technique of healing, and in a broader sense, this can be traced back to the origins of "Shiatsu". shiatsutherapy.org
A lot of people have been able to get a lot of help from Shiatsu therapy. And some people have been able to leave their pain medication completely with the help of Shiatsu therapy. And it may be worth your while looking into. And this is just one example of many ways of finding natural treatment for pain. And the best thing to do is to do everything you can in the natural before turning to pharmaceuticals; because many times pharmaceutical drugs turn into a never healing and never ending cycle.
Kratom can also become a natural means for treating chronic pain.

But no matter what you do, the best thing to do is to get heroin out of your life once and for all; because nothing good can come from heroin. Start doing everything you can to quit this drug, even if it means reaching out for help from others - which brings us to the first step.
This first step may seem unnecessary or impossible for some. But I can assure you, that if this applies to you then executing phase 1, step 1, will bring an almost instant change to your daily life as a heroin addict. This will put a stop to the madness or at least slow it down. And in the fullest sense, it just might save your life as well.

This will put a stop to the madness or at least slow it down. And in the fullest sense, it just might save your life as well.
Step 1: Come clean:
If this applies to you, then consider coming clean. Come clean to your mother. Come clean to your father. Come clean to your brother. Come clean to your sister. Come clean to your wife. Come clean to your husband. Come clean to your girlfriend. Come clean to your boyfriend. Come clean to your best friend. Come clean to your true friends. Come clean.
Accept the fact that you have a serious problem with heroin and then come clean in order to reach out for help and make things right. And when you do come clean, keep your head down and come clean 100%. Put it all on the table. Don't try to hide anything. And don't try to make the situation seem less than what it actually is. The best thing you can do is to come clean and reach out for help while you have the chance. "You can't do wrong and get by", LDA. If you’ve done someone wrong, like your family for example, then apologize, beg them for forgiveness and the chance to make things right. Be honest with them. For it is more important to be honest than it is to quit heroin. |
'Coming clean' is for your own benefit as well. It’s for your own protection. Your overseers will keep a watchful eye over you making it difficult for you to go out and use from here on out. They'll help protect you from destroying yourself and destroying your life any further. And by coming clean, you won’t have to live a double life any longer. Everything will change in an instant if you just come clean and reach out for help. Just something to consider for now. But in the end, it's all up to you. And last but not least, beg them to help you.
Beg them to help you quit this nasty heroin habit once and for all. If you've been truly sincere in apologizing to your loved ones for any hurt that you have caused them, then there’s a good chance that they will help you. They will forgive you and help you in any way that they can. But, if your family wants nothing to do with you, (which may be the case for some of you), then hurry up and quit this drug, change your life and then at least write them a letter of apology, apologizing for any hurt you may have caused them. Ask them to forgive you, and then move on with your life. Do everything you can to make things right and then move on with your life. And if you have to do this on your own, then get ready for the greatest battle of your life.
It will be you against yourself - you against heroin! And in the end, it's going to be you who gets yourself out of this mess and no one else. It will have to be you who decides to put your foot down and force yourself to do what is right and refuse to do that which is wrong. And if you have no one at all, or no one whom you can confide in then I will be more than happy to go through this battle with you every step of the way. I'll be here to help and encourage you each and every day. But it's up to you to decide once and for all to quit this thing and turn your life around. No one can do it for you. You have to do this yourself. But don’t worry. You can do this. I swear you can do this! And what you do now will determine how the rest of your life turns out.

Step 2: Choose your quitting plan:
Quitting Heroin Cold Turkey with the help of OTC meds, Imodium, Tagamet, ZzzQuil, etc...
Quitting Heroin with the Help of Kratom Quitting Heroin Warm Turkey with lesser evil pharmaceuticals, Tramadol, Valiums, Xanax, etc... Quitting Heroin with Methadone or Suboxone or Subutex Quitting Heroin in a Detox Center and/or a Drug Rehabilitation Treatment Center |
Quitting heroin cold turkey with OTC meds:
Quitting heroin cold turkey with the help of OTC meds such as Imodium, Tagamet, ZzzQuil and Valerian Root capsules along with frequent hot baths and long fast walks may be the best way for some of you to go.
Imodium is an over-the-counter, anti diarrhea drug which contains Loperamide, and Loperamide is an opioid drug which helps to relieve diarrhea, stomach cramps and other withdrawal symptoms when taken at high dosages every 5 to 6 or 7 to 8 hours. In fact, it’s quite possible to quit heroin just by taking 24mg (12 caplets) to 30mg (15 caplets) of Imodium every 5 to 6 or every 7 to 8 hours for the first 2 to 3 days along with 400mg (2 tablets) of "Tagamet" and actually feel quite well.
|
And I realize that quitting heroin cold turkey is easier said than done and it can also become dangerous for some. However, quitting heroin cold turkey with the help of OTC meds such as Imodium at high dosages, Tagamet to help the Imodium cross the blood brain barrier in the brain, ZzzQuil for sleep, and Valerian Root capsules for anxiety, may be a good way to quit.
Why? Because once you quit heroin cold turkey with OTC meds then that’s it, you’re done. You wont have to worry about quitting heroin first, and then weaning yourself from other medications such as Methadone or Suboxone which can become just as addictive as heroin, if not, far worse. And once you get through the pain and suffering from the withdrawals, then you'll have a much better chance of staying clean for good. You won’t ever want to go through that suffering ever again. And some of you may have no choice but to quit cold turkey due to lack of funds and lack of pharmaceutical drugs as well.
PLEASE NOTE: If you follow the quitting heroin cold turkey instructions to the letter, i.e. Imodium at 20mg, 24mg, then it's going to be much more easier and much more bearable than you can possibly imagine. Some people write to me and tell me that they hardly felt the withdrawals at all because they did exactly what the article told them to do.

Quitting heroin with the help of Kratom:
If you’re not able to quit heroin with otc meds, then you may want to consider quitting heroin with the help of Kratom. And Kratom is an all natural means of helping you get through heroin and opioid withdrawals for the first few days with much less discomfort. Kratom works. Kratom helps. It can help you to quit heroin. It can help you to quit Suboxone. It can help you to quit Oxycontin. And believe it or not, it can even help you to quit Methadone. And Kratom can help you too to quit heroin for good.
Kratom is not an opioid. It is not a drug. And it does not get you high like heroin. Yet Kratom produces euphoric effects and more importantly helps to minimize heroin withdrawal symptoms.
Kratom is not an opioid. It is not a drug. And it does not get you high like heroin. Yet Kratom produces euphoric effects and more importantly helps to minimize heroin withdrawal symptoms.
Kratom is one of the only plants that is not from the opium poppy plant that acts and works on the opioid receptors in the brain to counteract pain (heroin and opioid withdrawals). Kratom contains over 25 alkaloids including Mitragynine which is believed to be responsible for most of kratoms’ effects. Mitragynine is an opioid agonist, which means that it has an attraction towards the opioid receptors in the brain. And these opioid receptors are able to influence your mood, pain levels and anxiety levels as well.
|
Mitragynine binds to these receptors and helps to improve your mood while also giving the user a pleasant feeling of euphoria just like heroin does, although kratom will not give you the same high as heroin. The difference between kratom and opioids is that kratom prefers delta opioid receptors first while heroin and other opioid drugs bind to mu opioid receptors. At higher doses however, kratom increasingly stimulates mu opioid receptors in the brain. And this is most likely why kratom has a stimulating effect at lower doses and a narcotic effect at higher doses.
When a person stops using heroin and is using the kratom to come off of the heroin, the withdrawals from the heroin are minimized and moderated by the binding of Mitragynine to the delta opioid receptors, thus making withdrawals from the heroin much easier to deal with. Not only can kratom help people to come off of heroin, but it can also help users to come off of suboxone, methadone, and oxycontin as well.
Kratom works! Kratom helps. Kratom helps with heroin withdrawals, oxycontin withdrawals, Suboxone withdrawals, and believe it or not, kratom can help with methadone withdrawals as well. It can even help those suffering from chronic pain. It may be a little expensive, but it's all natural, and it can help greatly.
For more information on how to quit heroin with Kratom, how to get kratom, where to buy Kratom, how to take it, and how much to take, please see my article, "How to Quit Heroin with Kratom".

Quitting heroin warm turkey w/pharmacy drugs:
Quitting heroin warm turkey with the help of lesser evil pharmaceutical drugs such as Valiums, Xanax, Tramadol and/or other pharmaceuticals.
When quitting heroin warm turkey you'll be doing everything the same as if you were quitting heroin cold turkey but with the help of 'lesser evil' pharmaceutical drugs such as Valiums, Xanax and/or Tramadol, or whichever low level benzos (benzodiazepines) or opioid pain killers you have available in your country.
When using Plan B, quitting heroin warm turkey, you can begin when you start to feel even the slightest symptoms of withdrawals and you can start off with taking 1 10mg Valium and/or 1 25mg Tramadol in the morning and later on in evening as needed, just to get by, and not to get high. Then relax in the bath tub filled with hot hot water and allow time for the drugs to take effect. (20-30 minutes).

Valium is a benzodiazepine derivative drug and can be used to treat anxiety, insomnia, and most importantly, symptoms of opiate (heroin) withdrawal. But valium is more for the purpose of relieving anxiety, and not for the purpose of relieving pain as such.
Tramadol, also known as Ultram, is an opioid drug used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain such as back pains, neck pain, and those awful leg pains which accompany heroin withdrawals, also known as restless leg syndrome. And since Tramadol is an opioid drug it will be like taking a small amount of mild heroin to provide a small amount of relief. |
But remember, the goal here is not to get high and comfortable but instead, to minimize withdrawals and maintain your sanity. Taking these pharmaceutical drugs at low dosages may be just enough to keep anxiety, cramps, nausea, and diarrhea on hold, especially during the first few days of detox. You'll still feel withdrawal symptoms such as mild to moderate cold chills and irritableness even when taking drugs such as Valiums and/or Tramadol, but your pain and suffering will be less when quitting heroin warm turkey as compared to quitting heroin cold turkey. However, try not to use these meds in excess and for no more than 5 to 6 days as Valiums and Tramadol are both highly addictive drugs as well. Use them only as a crutch to get off of the heroin and then start tapering down from these drugs after the first 4 to 5 days.
WARNING: Do not take both Valiums (or Xanax) and Tramadol at the same time as this can cause dizziness, slowed breathing and even respiratory failure. It’s never a good idea to take 2 central nervous system depressants at the same time.
More drugs for quitting heroin warm turkey if you're not able to obtain Valiums or:

Lortab (generic name: acetaminophen/hydrocodone) Percocet (generic name: acetaminophen/oxycodone) Demerol (generic name: meperidine) Dilaudid (generic name: hydromorphone) Norco (generic name: acetaminophen/hydrocodone) Tylenol with Codeine #3 (generic name: acetaminophen/codeine) Vicodin (generic name: acetaminophen/hydrocodone) |
For anxiety:
Xanax (generic name: alprazolam) Ativan (generic name: lorazepam) Klonopin (generic name: clonazepam) |
There are other drugs used for anxiety and pain which can also be used as well. All of these drugs can be used to help reduce anxiety and pain. But again, the main idea in using any of these drugs to help you quit heroin is not to get high and comfortable, but instead to “reduce” anxiety, bone pains, restless legs, chills, nausea vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, and other withdrawal symptoms.
(NOTE: IMPORTANT: All of these drugs are highly addictive. And continued use of any of these drugs will lead to another addiction. Therefore, these drugs are to be used as a short term (5-6 day) crutch, (or less), and not as a replacement drug.)

However if you were not able to go through Plan A or Plan B, for whatever the reason may be, then again, DON'T give up by any means and don't slow down now. Move on to methadone or suboxone as quickly as possible.

Quitting heroin with Methadone or Suboxone:
Just about everyone knows what Methadone and Suboxone is. And most likely you've tried at least one or both of these drugs before to try to quit heroin.
Methadone is a full opioid agonist while Suboxone is a mixed agonist–antagonist opioid receptor modulator. Methadone being the full and stronger agonist, relieves all of those painful withdrawal symptoms and cravings completely, thus allowing you to continue to work and function like a normal human being. |
And Methadone has been proven to be very effective for helping users get off of heroin and stay clean for good. Furthermore, the transition from heroin to methadone is smooth and easy.
Suboxone, (Buprenorphine) is a mixed agonist–antagonist opioid receptor modulator which also relieves about 90% of withdrawal symptoms and sometimes completely while blocking out the euphoric effects of heroin. However, both of these drugs are highly addictive and can leave you in worst shape than heroin after long term use. Therefore, you would be much better off starting off at the lowest dosage possible and then begin to taper down by day 7 to day 10.
WARNING: Suboxone is also an addictive drug. And it would be best for you not to stay on any of these opioid medications for more than 30 to 45 days max, regardless of what your doctor tells you. Doctors and clinics will keep you on these medications for many months and sometimes years, thus creating a whole new and much stronger drug addiction in your life, and that's no way to live. The sooner you get off these meds then the sooner you can move on with your life without the need of any drugs, ever again. (But of course, that’s up to you. If you feel you need to be on Suboxone for longer than 30 to 45 days then that’s entirely up to you.)
When quitting heroin with Methadone or Suboxone, success is more likely when accompanied by counseling and/or attending group meetings such as NA for example. Therefore, you might want to look for an NA meeting being held in your area and then start attending. (www.na.org) (But of course that’s up to you. And NA is not for everyone as well.) But you may want to look into some type of counseling program in order to get as much help as you possibly can.
Anyone can quit heroin with Methadone or Suboxone if you really want to quit, but you'll still have to battle that urge to use, almost daily. You'll still have to get used to living without heroin in your life each and every day long enough to become strong. And that takes time and hard work as well. You'll have to do everything you can to keep yourself busy every single day. And you’ll have to plan your days wisely in order to succeed and avoid the possibility of relapse.
To learn more on how to quit heroin with Methadone and/or Suboxone then please read my article, “How to Quit Heroin Warm Turkey with Pharmaceutical Drugs” and then just do it!

Now... if you've tried everything and still continue to fail, or cant do any of those for whatever the reason may be, then you may want to look into quitting heroin and staying clean in a drug rehab center.

You'll have to do everything you can to keep yourself busy every single day. And you’ll have to plan your days wisely in order to succeed and avoid the possibility of relapse.

Now... if you've tried everything and still continue to fail, or cant do any of those for whatever the reason may be, then you may want to look into quitting heroin and staying clean in a drug rehab center.
Quitting heroin in a rehab center:
Quitting Heroin in a Drug Treatment Rehabilitation Center can become another option for some. And there are many reasons why drug rehabilitation centers work, such as relocation, isolation and inaccessibility to heroin. And when you're in a drug treatment center you're safe. You're far away from the dope spot, your dope-friends and bad environments.
Furthermore, drug rehabilitation centers provide professional counseling and medical supervision to assist you through the detox stage along with after care as well. The only problem with quitting heroin in a drug rehabilitation center, is finding a good, clean, decent facilities for little or no cost at all.

Most professional rehabs are expensive and can cost anywhere from $3,000, $10,000 to $40,000 or more for a 1 to 3 month stay. And not many people have that kind of money nor have the medical insurance to help cover the cost. But if you have the money, and/or have medical insurance to help pay for the costs then by all means, find the best treatment center you can find and admit yourself as quickly as possible.

And when searching for the right treatment center, the best thing to do is to find one far far away, away from where you live now. Out of state or cross country works best. Down south in sunny Florida, Texas or Arizona is even better. The rays of the sun and the warm weather combined can work wonders. And the farther you go from home then the harder it will be for you to call it quits, pack up, and leave, which unfortunately happens more often than not.
It would be wonderful to find a drug treatment center in a secluded area, away from the city. And it would be great if the facilities had a park, benches, trees, walkways, trails, paths etc. A nice natural environment helps soothes the soul. You can even choose beach front treatment centers with beautiful ocean views. The sounds of the ocean waves combined with the sunny warm weather can do miracles for your health. And the nicer the place then the longer you'll stay and the better you'll feel about being there. You’ll also want to check for amenities such as fully equipped gyms, saunas, pools, basket ball courts, running tracks, outdoor activities etc...
The more they have to offer, then the more entertained you'll be while staying there. And if at all possible, plan on staying there for as long as you can or for as long as you can afford to stay. 90 days or more works best. The longer you stay then the better your chances will be for changing and staying clean for good.
