DAWN
DAWN (Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Network) provides a free and confidential home-based withdrawal service. The program helps people, in their own environment, either reduce or stop their drug and / or alcohol use. The service is staffed by clinical nurses who visit clients at home and support them through their withdrawal, working with each client's General Practitioner (GP) in the community. Clients are referred to counselling, rehabilitation or other appropriate services for continuing care. Services include: Assessment; Medicated or Non Medicated home based withdrawal; Liaison with GP; Home visits; Education and support for individual, family and GP; Referral to appropriate counselling / rehabilitation services and more.
